Heart-healthy notes
Use 93% lean ground beef or lean ground turkey, low-sodium stock and low-sodium tomato sauce, and drain any fat after browning. The brown sugar is swapped for a little optional monk fruit, and hidden vegetables stretch the meat.
Note: The finely diced vegetables disappear into the meat and stretch it further. Monk fruit tip: many monk fruit sweeteners are blended with erythritol. Check the label and pick pure monk fruit or a monk fruit and allulose blend.
