- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup unsweetened dried fruit, chopped (optional)
Steps
- Bring the water to a boil, then stir in the monk fruit sweetener until it dissolves.
- Lower the heat to a simmer and add everything else.
- Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the cranberries burst. Let cool.
Heart-healthy notes
No salt and no fat added. The cup of sugar is replaced with monk fruit, the dried fruit is unsweetened and optional, and the orange, apple and pear bring natural sweetness.
Note: Great spooned over plain nonfat Greek yogurt or oatmeal. Cranberries are very tart, so taste near the end and add a little more sweetener if needed. Monk fruit tip: many monk fruit sweeteners are blended with erythritol. Check the label and pick pure monk fruit or a monk fruit and allulose blend.
